"You feel free from your body, scared of the unknown, when a sudden voice speaks to you. You finally made it, you reached heaven... or so you thought. Stuck in a clash as old as time, you have to prove your soul's worth one final time. Will you be capable of forgiving? Or will you sucumb to your desire to kill? Who knows what fate awaits you..."
- Clear your path through all of the rounds!
- You can choose how to go through: Forgive or Kill!
- Multiple enemies will stand in your way, trying to banish you from existence.
- An action-packed bullet hell experience, aiming to test your reflexes!
- Fight against bosses at the end of each level!
- Multiple endings!
Fated Seal was a submission for Heaven Jam 2023, where we had to develop a game representing the idea of Heaven. For us, Heaven is the final goal, something you have to earn, and each person's worth must be evaluated before being granted the final rest. How was that judgement made? We started thinking about ways to represent it, and the idea for the Sky Colosseum came to our minds: An arena where God and the Devil put you to test, tempting the player to kill the enemies to go through, and survive each capital sin. You can choose how to play and go through, but remember, you are being judged.
For this Jam we had to aim to a proof of concept / demo of our idea, aiming for the first two levels. We created two boss fights, and some enemies to populate each round prior to the boss. Having two separate levels allows the player to have a grasp of the basic concept of the game: Survive each round however you like, clear the boss, and upgrade your character for the next level. How can you upgrade yourself? It depends on your actions, as every decision matters. If you clear a level by forgiving, your options change when compared to clearing by killing.
If we could keep developing Fated Seal, we'd like to include 7 whole levels, one for each capital sin, with a wider variety of enemies, allowing for bigger challenges and a longer playtime. We have some twists for the story and conclussion thought of too, were it could become a tough challenge for those seeking a hard experience.

Hey! You won 2nd place in the Heaven Jam and I need your PayPal email unless you want your winnings donated to https://somasoulworks.org/game-dev-fund/
great concept! but every time I killed an enemy the clock in the top right stopped.
What do I do?
If you kill even one, you have to kill all of them, or you don't kill any.
There's no in-between.
If you kill none, the clock will go until it does a full loop, then spawn an hp potion and go to the next stage of the level.
Ok thanks!
Yep! You either survive the whole round by forgiving, or go into a killing spree, you can't go without full commitment for a playstyle. However, that only counts for that round. You can kill in one round, then forgive in the next one
